Spring is almost here, the flowers are blooming, the birds singing...well, maybe I'm a little early. I, for one, will be glad to see the end of the cold weather.
But the spring term is almost here, and I'm excited about the classes that I'm teaching. Not in any particular order, they are:
Windows Server 2008
Hardware
Desktop Publishing with InDesign
Intro to Accounting
If you need ISBN numbers, please send me an e-mail. You will also need Moodle accounts, so let me know and I will e-mail you details on how to log in, set up your account, and all other sorts of neat stuff.
The term is almost over, and I'm just catching up the The House on the Corner. Better late than never! There have been some changes in the past two weeks.
I've got Moodle up and running; more or less. I'm not going to use it for this term, but rather for next, especially for Server. The link is simple--http://www.thehouseonthecorner.com/classes/moodle. You can go directly by entering this in your browser, or clicking this link: MOODLE. For those of you who don't know, Moodle is a content management system (CMS), open source (of course), and very powerful. You are going to have to register with me to get access, so send me an e-mail with Moodle in the subject line, and I will send create an account for you.
My blog is back, and this is where I record miscellaneous thoughts, some class related, but others not. you can get to it with http://www.thehouseonthecorner.com/blog/. It uses WordPress, is a LAMP, that is, Linux MySQL PHP, and the link is blog. If you want to make comments, you also have to register, and there is a link on the page to do that.
Microsoft has a number of webcasts about IP v6, which may clear up some of the questions. There is a general webcast about it at:
http://channel9.msdn.com/posts/Charles/Michael-Surkan-Introduction-to-IPV6/
Another webcast deals with deploying and configuring:
http://channel9.msdn.com/posts/Charles/Mike-Barrett-Testing-and-Deploying-IPV6/
Both are worth the time to watch.

Summer time, and the living is easy...
That is the opening to one of my all time favorite songs, but it is not necessarily easy. But, at any rate, I've made some changes, and I hope that the site is a little easier to use. So far, the only class that I have posted is Intro to Networking, with the link to the resource page. Let me know, please, about stuff that is out of date, missing, or otherwise not accessible, and I will fix it.
Moodle is down, and I'm not sure when I am going to be able to get it working again. That does not mean that there are no article summaries due. The link to sample articles is here; please submit your summaries as an attachment to an email, in either .doc or .rtf format, addressed to Dillard@thehouseonthecorner.com.
The PowerPoint slides for the last chapter (Chapter 4) are here. Chapter 5 is also available.
Chapter 7 (or maybe 8--I have a small difference in my slides and the book).
Chapter 9 Exploring Directory Services
I've posted the PowerPoint from some of the chapters; click on the link below.
Chapter 3: Understanding CPUs
Chapter 4: RAM
Chapter 5: BIOS and CMOS
The link to the MSDN Academic alliance is right here. If you have an account, link to it from here.
Since I'm on campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM until about 10 PM, these are the best times to stop and see me. I can usually be found in or around the new Networking Lab, which is Room 115 or out smoking. If these are not convenient for you, send me an e-mail and we can set something up. If your address is something like SuperHotGuitarPlayer@hotmail.com, please make sure that you reference me or LSB in the subject line.
I will continue to work on this and try to get stuff back up, bit by bit. Or is that byte by byte?
All the best-->Dillard
